Janet Trobough
In 1998, after a long beauty and fashion career in the Pacific Northwest, Janet decided to take a giant leap of faith and pursue a dream that at times seemed impossible; becoming an artist.
She had painted in oils for many years without formal training. After deciding to pursue art as a second career, she began by painting everyday. Max Bunnell, a professor of art at Utah Tech University (formally Dixie Tech) , provided Janet with her formal introduction into fine art. Janet also studied with Sharon Ginsburg, a world renowned sculptor and teacher.
Janet works in a variety of mediums including, oils, water color, sculpture, and mixed media. Janet enjoys painting Native American themes, landscapes, florals and contemporary subjects. Janet uses alabaster, soapstone, and surface of gourds as her sculptural materials.
Art Encounter of Las Vegas represented Janet for many years. Her artwork has been displayed and sold to collectors in Sedona Arizona, South Lake Tahoe California, and throughout Southern Nevada. Janets’ work is currently on display beyond the Mesquite Fine Arts Gallery at the Moapa Valley Art Guild, and Gallery 873 in Kayenta Utah.
