EXPRESSIVE FLORALS with Linda Smith
Are you looking to enhance your garden variety floral watercolor paintings or for a way to make your florals stand out from rest? In this workshop, we will learn how to create fluid, intuitive floral compositions using a mix of both traditional and non-traditional watercolor techniques. With a focus on expressive flowers, foliage, fillers, and backgrounds, learn the secret of capturing the subject’s essence through a well-designed composition that is both loose and dynamic.
Layering glazes, softening edges, learning how shadows reveal form, color temperature, negative painting, lifting, and creating depth and color harmonies are only a few of the concepts to be covered through demonstrations, individual guidance, critiques, tips and pointers. You will also learn methods of using other mediums to bring life back into your florals all while uncovering your artistic voice and learning to see like an artist. Discover something new or to expand your watercolor skills while finding which technique works best for you while you build your confidence, loosen up, and enjoy the process. All skill levels welcome!
